On Friday, June 6, 2025, Professor Zhang Chaohua, former vice president of Guangdong Ocean University, paid a courtesy visit to the Laboratory of Marine Biomaterial and Functional Biochemistry at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology.
Professor Zhang earned his doctoral degree from Tokyo University of Fisheries, the predecessor of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, and served as a professor at Guangdong Ocean University before assuming the role of vice president.
Our university has an academic exchange agreement with Guangdong Ocean University, under which we have been accepting and sending researchers and students. Professor Zhang has long served as the contact person for Guangdong Ocean University under the academic exchange agreement. On the other hand, Professor Ishizaki serves as the contact person for Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. The Laboratory of Marine Biomaterial and Functional Biochemistry has accepted many exchange students from Guangdong Ocean University and has awarded doctoral degrees to three individuals.
Professor Ishizaki has visited Zhanjiang City, where Guangdong Ocean University is located, for over 10 years, actively conducting lectures, donating books, and providing research guidance. In recognition of his contributions, Professor Ishizaki has been awarded the title of Visiting Professor by Guangdong Ocean University.
